If you read this piece, you’ll know I visited Arusha during my Africa travels – an archetypal East African town that’s at the heart of Tanzanite gemstone mining and has an intriguing culture.
Often, Arusha is overlooked by people travelling through Tanzania on safari. Many people head to the likes of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater without really giving this town a thought.
