The highly-sought after Hospital Club has now become something of a boutique hotel. So if you’re lucky enough to check into one of the h.Club Bedrooms for the night, you too can be part of the in-crowd.
Hotel guests can now take full advantage of all the private screenings, live gigs, club nights, mixology classes and high-end dining this private members club has to offer, during their stay.
So if you had 24 hours to be a temporary member anywhere you like, would you pick one of the h.Club Bedrooms?
Perhaps this will help you decide…
There are 15 rooms in total and they all share similarities in their design, such as their gorgeous wooden headboards retro radios and nik naks and swirly Missoni-style carpets…
But at the same time, they vary massively in size (one bedroom is teeny tiny with no windows and the largest ones are vast suites with sprawling lounges) so they all have their own special character…
like this Tic Tac-like wall art…
…retro drinks cabinets…
..and the orange donuts that look like they’re growing from the wall… (see far left).
Erotic mini bar anyone? (And we’re not talking cheap and nasty here, these nipple tassels have class – they’re velvet and we’re talking £100-plus to get kinky).
And down the hallway, you might bump into a fox in a fez hat.
This hotel is full of surprises.
All rooms have some design input from individual artists ranging from Alyson Mowat and Dominic Beattie to Kristof Jenny and Harriet Clare.
And as a nod to the Royal Ballet a few streets away in Covent Garden, you might find some striking ballerina photography on the walls.
The bathrooms range from walk-in showers to big bathtubs (all with REN products) and some of the larger rooms have large private terraces with decking and lovely shrubs. They really do feel like a trendy home-from-home rather than a hotel.
And with a retro vibe, quirky School of Life brain power tool kits and inspirational turndown cards, the h.Club bedrooms are nothing but unique.
In the morning, if you can bear to leave these sophisticated boltholes, trot downstairs and try the Hospital Club’s newly-launched breakfast while media-types mill around being creative…
If I had to choose somewhere in London to be a member for 24 hours, I think the prime location, unique design and cool crowd would make this a high contender.
Let me know what you think.
Until next time x
