A Birthday in New York at Christmas

So today is my birthday and I can’t help but think back to a year ago when I spent a landmark birthday in New York City (I’ll let you guess which landmark).

When it comes to birthdays, this has to have been one of the most epic ways I’ve ever celebrated.

The boy booked us three nights in the Big Apple and the first morning on my birthday, we woke up to this view from our beautiful hotel room in the Gansevoort Hotel.Gansevoort New York

I opened my birthday cards on the rooftop with views looking out to the Hudson River. We then had an amazing day of exploring which went a little something like this…

Breakfast at Cookshop in the Meatpacking District – one of the most amazing places you can do breakfast in New York (trust me, ah those biscuits with bacon, creme fruit, onion and chive eggs – drool).

Walking along the High Line (and avoiding the icy bits) while admiring the street art along the way…

Wondering through the Flatiron District while picking up delish coffee in Eataly and admiring the park.

Wandering around my favourite park in New York – Bryant Park – and having a nosey around the Christmas market while watching people falling on their bums on the ice rink…

Dropping by the Rockefeller Centre and admiring the beautiful Christmas tree lights while watching more ice skaters (their moves were a bit more impressive this time)…

This then followed by three more days of adventure which I will return to soon. But for now, I’m off to celebrate this year’s birthday with my favourite person in another favourite city – London, of course.

Until next time x
