As London Fashion Week gets underway, I thought it might be nice to inspire you with some stylish London bars and cafes where you can sip on some stylish Fashion Week inspired cocktails.
You won’t get a cocktail here, but you will get a nutritious pick-me-up after long hours of darting between catwalks. The “Dolce & Banana” smoothie blends banana, coconut and honey for an exotic and healthy sugar hit. Or why not try their “Pear Cardin” – a zestier blend of fresh pear and pineapple juice with a healthy spike of ginger. They’re £4.90 and you can pick them up at Brew cafés during London Fashion Week in Wandsworth, Battersea and Wimbledon.
Chatime is a tea specialist that focuses on modernised Taiwanese tea culture and in ode to London Fashion Week, they have launched two refreshing iced teas to give you a pick me up. The Blackcurrant Yurba aims to increase mental energy and focus. And the Strawberry Rooibos is a caffeine-free alternative. You can guarantee a high level of antioxidants which is good if you’ve been on the after-party cocktails the night before. Notting Hill and Soho.
La Porte des Indes
Who wouldn’t want to visit a restaurant that’s like stepping into a jungle? La Porte des Indes’ fabulous leafy bar will be serving up coconut cocktails straight from the freshest green shell, plus other tasty concoctions like the ‘Karma’ (fresh coconut juice, vodka, passion fruit, green lime, sweet basil) and the ‘Pomerita’ (fresh coconut juice, rum, Pana liqueur, curacao, pomegranate, lemon). And inspired by the Long Bar at Singapore’s world-famous Raffles Hotel, who wouldn’t want to drop by Mayfair to try this for size.
VQ 24 Hours
You’ve got to love a restaurant that stays open 24 hours. Especially handy for refuelling following the after-parties. VQ café and diner serves up everything from 2am burgers to all-day breakfast and interesting cocktails. Fashion Week themed beverages will include the ‘Passion for Fashion’ (Jack Daniels, passion fruit purée, vanilla syrup and fresh mint) the ‘Blooms Berry Beauty’ (fresh berries, Southern Comfort, Chambord and lime). And if you visit the VQ website, you can get 2 for 1 on these cocktails. Oh, and did we mention it’s also in Chelsea?
Wild Honey, Arbutus and Le Deux Salons
Wild Honey is on my personal must-eat list. And Anthony Demetre and Will Smith’s trio of stylish London restaurants, have created a selection of bespoke cocktails in homage to London Fashion Week for all to enjoy. Choose from ‘The Ciccollini’ (Vodka infused with fresh vanilla, charged with Champagne), The Milliner (G.Vine gin infused with pomegranate, shaken with Crème de Peche and Lillet) and the Bottletop Mulberry (Home-made Gin Punch shaken with freshly blended lychee puree, Crème de Mure, lemon juice and gimme syrup). Mouth watering? Me too.
Salvatore, Playboy Bunny Club
Get excited Coco Chanel fans, because famous mixologist Salvatore ‘The Maestro’ Calabrese has created the ultimate homage to LFW. The Iconic No. 5 combines 50ml of vodka, 25ml of elderflower liqueur and 20ml of fresh lemon juice. It’s then shaken with ice and strained into a chilled coupe glass, then topped with a champagne foam. Salvatore then garnishes it with a tiny dried rose and a spritz of Chanel on the stem of the glass. Well if it’s good enough for Kate and Naomi… (oh and you don’t have to be a member to pop in here…)
Until next time x
