Oh So London gets into the spirit of vintage fashion and racing at The Goodwood Revival.
Situated in the West Sussex countryside is the idyllic Goodwood Estate, which is where Oh So London spent our weekend delving into the celebration of vintage racing and fashion at The Goodwood Revival.
And while it’s undoubtedly an event for vintage car enthusiasts and race goers, as we discovered, there’s so much more on offer.
Surrounding the internationally renowned racetracks of the 12,000-acre Goodwood Estate, the annual Goodwood Revival encompasses a maze of streets, market stalls, showrooms and paddocks. Retro-style shops and cafes, Champagne bars and tearooms sit between outdoor dining spaces and stages for live swing bands where dancers let loose on the open-air dance floors.
As the cars zip around the racetrack and spitfires swoop overhead, you can’t fail to be impressed by the vintage cars and historic planes on display in each paddock and showroom. We didn’t even get to the cookery demonstrations, funfair and roller disco.
Part of the fun at this The Goodwood Revival is looking the part. So with a choice between 40s, 50s and 60s vintage glamour, festival goers compete for the title of the Revival’s Best Dressed.
With racing tracks, kennels, the historic Goodwood House and the luxury Goodwood Hotel, events like this happen throughout the year, both big and small.
If you’re London based and fancy heading to the next Goodwood Revival Festival you can travel to Goodwood from London Victoria. It’s less than two hours by train to Chichester, where you can jump in a taxi or take a bus to the Goodwood Estate. And if you get your best gladrags on, you might even earn t best dressed…
Until next time x
