So it’s good to know there are some brilliant mobile spas out there in London. I’ve reviewed Perfect 10 Mobile Beauty Service before for OSL but I’d never tried their spray tan. And as I was due to try on some wedding dresses, I thought a bit of bronzing would be the perfect little pick me up ahead of my visit.
And what a good service it is.
If you haven’t used Perfect 10 before, it’s incredibly simple. Their recently updated website allows you to click on the treatment(s) you’d like. You’re then directed to a brilliant scheduling tool which allows you choose the time slot that’s convenient for you. This goes down to the nearest 15 minutes and some of their appointment slots start as early as 7am and end as late as 9.30pm. So yes, you can fit it in the night before that ridiculously early honeymoon flight. Or you can squeeze it in first thing, so you’re a bronzed belle in time for your hen do night out.
What’s also brilliant, is while you’re booking your spray tan, you can also upgrade it by adding on extra spa treatments. Pre-wedding head massage or pre-flight foot rub for £15?
Yes, I think so.
My therapist arrived right on time and set up the pop-up ‘tent’ in my living room.
Once I was in the buff, had my paper knickers and shower cap on, I then had barrier cream applied to all the necessary areas such as knees, elbows and between the toes, to prevent those unattractive fake tan blobs. It was then a simple case of moving around in the booth as she instructed as she applied the spray tan.
The spray tan brand that Perfect 10 use is Sienna X Spray. It’s one of the best out there and adapts to your skin to give you the most natural glow possible.
You are given a number of strengths to choose from, and being super pasty white, I decided it was safe to go for a very subtle 6% – which I think is the lowest they offer.
In hindsight, it was perfect for the colour I wanted the next day. However, it didn’t give me the lasting glow I’d perhaps want if I needed the glow to last for my big day or honeymoon, a few days’ later.
So, if you’re heading off somewhere tropical, or want a glow that will last the 5-7 days, I would highly recommend going for a minimum of 8-10%. It may feel quite dark at first, but you’ll feel beautifully bronzed. Or if you’re not sure, have a chat with the therapist when they arrive at your house and they’ll be happy to decide on the strength that’s right for you.
Would I recommend this service? Absolutely. There’s no hassle of having to get fully dressed afterwards and risk getting spray tan on your clothes, or feeling like an umpa lumpa on the bus. And the transfer of tan from my skin to the bed sheets was extremely minimal (it washes straight out anyway). It was also super easy to book and done and dusted in 30 minutes.
Perfect 10 is one of those essential services I’m sure most brides will rely on at some point during their wedding journey. So do check them out. And let me know what you think.
Until next time x
Other tips for the perfect spray tan:
– Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate 24 hours before your spray tan
– Moisturise regularly afterwards to prolong your tan
– Avoid using abrasive shower gels or scrubs after your tan to make it last longer
